Out in the garden!
It's still early in the year, but anyone who has already discovered the garden or vegetable patch as a place of relaxation knows that it's high time to get started. Issue number 58 of The Heritage Post is dedicated to new garden projects, suitable clothing, the best tools, and very special garden helpers: chickens and bees. Even those who don't enjoy active gardening will find a suitable mix of topics with fashion, good food, and exciting vehicles to get them in the mood for spring.
Gardening with style
Digging in the dirt and looking good doing it? It's possible! Le Prince Jardinier from France is a prime example of this attitude and is also so elegant that the clothes are suitable for a visit to the theater. The dungarees, with their long history, have also found their way into everyday wear. The traditional Dutch wooden shoes, called Klompen, however, prefer to stay where it's earthy and muddy. And if you haven't found anything suitable in the usual clothing sizes, JP1880 offers a curated fashionable selection up to 8XL!
Just do it
Not having your own garden is no excuse. Even on the balcony, lush harvests can be achieved later in the year in pots or compact raised beds, and there are now enough exciting community garden projects, rented plots, or allotments. These gardens, once considered the epitome of stuffiness, are now the green refuge of stressed city dwellers. Keeping chickens is also worth serious consideration. These intelligent and courageous animals can become true companions. There are spectacularly beautiful chickens and small all-rounders, like the Chabo chicken, which requires little space and maintenance.
Beekeeping as a new hobby
Bees are the most diligent workers of all, and we can express our gratitude to them by planting vegetables and flowers. And for anyone looking for a new hobby this year, why not try beekeeping? It's a great hobby where you learn a lot about yourself, the animals, and nature. The artist Tomáš Libertíny even works with bees on joint art objects.
