What is a maekake?
Maekake are traditional Japanese aprons originating in the Edo period. Worn by merchants, artisans, and laborers, they served to protect the body and stabilize the hip area. Every Anything maekake is woven in Japan on a Toyota shuttle loom over 100 years old – ensuring the highest quality, durability, and an authentic feel.
